About DiscipleTown
DiscipleTown uses a creative and adaptable town theme to teach practical “Disciple Skills.” It is published by the creators of DiscipleLand, the most comprehensive children’s Bible curriculum on the market. Disciple Skills are practical skills that every follower of Jesus Christ must develop in order to grow and live victoriously. The children’s church format compliments DiscipleLand and/or your other ministries to kids. Learn more about DiscipleLand’s Bible Curriculum at DiscipleLand.com.

Rather than providing a rigid plan to follow, you can quickly and easily modify DiscipleTown to fit your ministry needs. There is more than enough material for a full-length service, but you can also choose only the elements you’d like to use. By design, DiscipleTown is packed with ideas so you’ll never be left needing to supplement the lesson, but its flexibility allows you to add your own unique teaching elements.

How to Worship Lesson Summaries
Lesson 1: Showing God’s Worth
In this lesson, you will introduce kids to worship as a concept that is far broader and deeper than merely singing hymns and praise songs. You will challenge children to consider new and different ways that they can worship God.

Lesson 2: One-on-One with God
In this lesson, you will introduce kids to personal worship. You will invite and inspire them to spend time alone with God each day—choosing a time, a place, and a plan to meet with the Lord. Since children are accustomed to adults directing their daily activities, this may be a challenge. But learning the skill and discipline of spending time alone with God will establish a spiritual foundation that will sustain them for years to come.

Lesson 3: To Give or To Get?
In a culture that often focused on getting and gaining, God commands His children to be generous and giving. This may feel counter-productive, but giving to the Lord is actually the key to success in God’s economy! Teaching children to give generously is essential. Once they discover the joy and fulfillment that is found in giving to others, they will form lifetime habits that will reap fruit into eternity.

Lesson 4: Worship God by Serving People
One of the most profound statements Jesus said while on earth was that He came to serve rather than to be served. We live in a world that defines status by how many people serve you. Christ turned this concept upside-down by demonstrating that in His Kingdom, the greatest are those who serve (Luke 22:25-27). From washing His disciples feet to laying down His life voluntarily, Jesus demonstrated a life that declared God’s worth (worshiped) by serving others. The Lord said to His status-seeking followers, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:44-46). If the Son of God came to serve, how much more so should we!
